Sean Pengtakoon was born June 4th, 1957, to Phengta and Phippa Thongrisimongkhouk in Vientiane, Laos. Sean grew up in Laos alongside 11 siblings before coming to America in 1979. A year after landing in New York, Sean met Meg Vongprachanh, and they married in August 1980. They were happily married for 45 years. He fathered his firstborn daughter, Linda, in 1982, followed by his son, Matthew, four years later.
Sean passed peacefully at home early on November 1st, 2025, with his wife at his side. During his life, he initially worked in New York, first as a butcher, later found work with Kodak, and then in manufacturing to support his new family. The family of four found their way to Florida, where Sean worked alongside his sister-in-law, Luk Vongprachanh, in telecommunications. Thanks to his hard work and many opportunities, Sean was able to retire early at the age of 56. Becoming a homeowner of multiple properties, which he dedicated his time to renovating. Sean had outstanding workmanship, inside and outside of the home. His handiwork transformed the interiors, while his landscaping refined the home's exterior greenery.
Sean loved being in nature; he grew papayas, peppers, and tomatoes at home with his wife. He also spent time fishing and especially loved golfing. Sean treasured his time golfing with friends, and especially his loving son. Sean will be forever missed by his loving wife, Meg Pengtakoon; two children, Linda Jones and Mathew Pengtakoon; and his eight grandchildren, Tatyonna Green, Jaylin Phillips, Jeramy Phillips, Mia Pengtakoon, Camila Pengtakoon, Megha Jones, Micah Jones, and Malakai Jones.
