Nancy Taylor's Obituary
Nancy Taylor, of Wesley Chapel, Florida, passed away on January 7, 2024.
Nancy was born on February 28,1937, to Thomas and Hazel Gordon in Grosse Point, Michigan.
Nancy was surrounded in her passing by her sons George and Gregory Taylor, her daughters Cathy Henderson and Donna Hebert, and many of her extended family.
She was preceded in death by her husband Edgar Coleman Taylor, her parents Thomas and Hazel Gordon, and her brother Thomas Alexander Gordon. She is survived by her children Cathy Henderson, George Taylor, Donna Hebert, and Gregory Taylor, and her brothers James Gordon and Roy Gordon. Nancy had 25 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren, with two more on the way.
Nancy grew up in Michigan. She attended Royal Oak High School, where she met her husband, Edgar Taylor. They were married on June 4, 1955, in Royal Oak, Michigan. Edgar joined the Air Force. They had many wonderful years traveling, but due to the wars, which took Edgar away from the family at times.
Nancy was loving, fun, crafty, resourceful, and friendly, and she loved to host and organize family gatherings. She loved making new friends. She was a queen mother in the Red Hatters for many years. Her husband Edgar was a member of the Phi Delta Kappa Fraternity. She is beloved by many of the members. She enjoyed helping with the many different charities over the years.
Nancy was a bookkeeper/secretary for many different companies throughout the years. She had her own business for a while as a wedding florist.
Nancy is leaving behind the legacy of a talented, fun-loving woman who had many life challenges that she always found ways to overcome.
Nancy loved her husband Edgar more than life itself. She cherished her family and lived her life to the fullest. She will be greatly missed by all.
