I first met Murry in early 1960s I was 11 or 12 and learned he was a Draftsman. I thought it had something to do with the military. Murry was eager to offer advise particularly with Cars and Careers . Five years later I bought my 1st car 1963 Chevy BelAir. Murry and Nelda had a Black 57 Chevy and Red 63 Chevy Super Sport and he gifted me a nice set of SS Hubcaps. Around that time I enrolled in 2 year Tech School for Engineering Drawing so I could be a Draftsman also. Another 5 years after that Murry and I were sitting side by side taking additional Mechinical Engineering courses at local Commumity College. We occasionally crossed paths after that when I became a packaging Engineer and would work on packaging requirements for some of the Industries where Murry worked in Engineering. He and Nelda moved on from the St Louis area and when I was lucky enough to see them 2 or 3 times over the next 30 years we would catch up on good times. I will miss those visits , friendship and guidance.
Some of our best memories and great times were with Murry and Nelda. Weekends drinks on the dock to visit or a boat ride to go find a spot where there was a band playing. Murry would be out everyday on his custom golf cart cruising the neighborhood to find a friend to catch up on whats going on that day. Murry kept everything he owned detailed and emacullate. Wether it was their lawn or the boats and cars. He always had great stories and wanted to know how you were. We enjoyed so many laughes together. Buddy you will be dearly missed.
Salem Village, Palm Harbor, Fl 2007 was the beginning of our friendship with the Fisher’s. We were neighbors. Snowbirds. They lived in the Ozarks. We lived (still do) Nebraska. They had the prettiest home on the block! Garage door swung open at 5 and neighbors trickled in for happy hour. The best of times-parties, dinners out and meeting their friends. Murry had a smile that made you feel good and everyone was his “Buddy”. He had so many passions in his blessed life that he loved to share in stories. Murry is back in his Cadillac with the Lord by his side, big smile and waving. Nelda had courage, determination and remained steadfast through it all with her family by her side. We will miss you buddy!

We meet Murry and Nelda when we first moved into Heritage Springs at a Veterans Day Celebration. This started a long friendship with many fun dinners together and sharing stories of our boating days. Murry and myself were on the same page with stories about our boating days and the cars we owned. We shared family memories together and Murry always showed the love for his family. Murry always enjoyed our village ROMEO luncheon and always left us with a funny story to tell. He once ordered a jalapeño burger at one of his favorite restaurants. Boy was he surprised when he took a bite. We all have remembrance of that outing. He was my best buddy for all these years. I will miss our days together and as we say in the Navy we wish Murry

I didn’t have the privilege of knowing Murray/Papaw as long as many others did, but I’ll always remember how much he loved sharing stories about Clayton and the summers they spent together at Lake of the Ozarks. You could see how proud he was and how much those memories meant to him.

Murry was such a sweet man. He always had endless stories to tell us everytime we visit him and Nelda. His smile always left me smiling and wondering what he was thinking. He always made sure we went to his favorite restaurants and introduced us with tons pride in his voice. Nelda was his true love and he didn't miss an opportunity to show it. He always said she was his reason for being here. My goodness he was a great man.

My Uncle Murry was bigger than life !!! He was like a Father to me. He was always there for me giving me advice and letting me know how much he loved me ! Even though there was distance between us i talked to him often. We have had some really good conversations. When Paul had heart failure he called everyday to check on him. Sometimes 2 and 3 times a day. The day before he passed I was able to let him know how much I truly did love him and he told me that he knew I did. He will be greatly and deeply missed. He truly loved us all !!!
Your work on earth is done Uncle Murry. May you finally rest now.
