One lesson I learned from Max was how he searched for peace and acceptance from others.
As a young man, Max was shamed by members of my family, people who should have loved him unconditionally. Even so, he still loved them and desired to find acceptance and peace with them. He never found it.
But Max's story does not end there. Max loved those same people. Max strived for peace and love in situations where many others would hate and seek revenge. That's rare. In fact, history tells us there was another who loved like Max; his name is Jesus Christ.
Family is not defined by blood, but by those who love you unconditionally.
Love like Max, and make a difference.
