A Tribute to Aunt Mary
My Aunt Mary was a guiding light in my life. She was a kind and loving presence whose influence helped shape me into the person that I am today. Throughout my childhood, she and my Uncle Carl were there, especially during the summers of my teenage years while school was on recess. During high school, I even had the pleasure of spending a couple of winter breaks in their home.
She wasn't just an aunt to me; she was often a second mother, someone who offered a comforting hand, an open mind, and guidance when I needed it most. Whether we were playing games, laughing together, or simply spending time in each other's company, those moments were filled with joy and love that I will forever cherish.
Anyone who had the pleasure of meeting my aunt knew that she had a contagious smile. Though she was smaller in size, some even describing her as “vertically challenged”, she was a giant when it came to love, kindness, and the impact that she made on her family and the community. Her smile, intelligence, faith, and determination will live on in my heart and the hearts of everyone who was lucky enough to have known her.
Auntie, you will be sorely missed. Your spirit will live on within me. Your love, wisdom, and impact on the people you encountered will never fade. You will always have a special place in my heart. Though you are with God now, I pray that you continue to watch over us, helping us to live life as you chose to live. Thank you for being such an incredible person.
With all my love, always.
