Margaret A. Santos was born and raised in New York City to Vicente & Margo Troche. She attended P.S. 101 Elementary School, Washington Irving H.S. and went onto graduate from John Jay College of Criminal Justice with a Bachelor of Arts degree in February 1981.
Margaret was married to Joseph Santos on June 17, 1950 and they went onto have three children together; Adrian, Laura and David. Margaret was a faithful housewife raising her three children until she joined the workforce in the mid-1960’s. She worked as an accountant for the New York City Board of Higher Education until her retirement in 1989 at which time she moved to Hudson, FL.
Margaret had numerous hobbies including sewing, needlepoint, quilting, crocheting, and her artistic talents were on display throughout her home and in her community. She won numerous awards during her lifetime for her creative creations. She and Joe loved to cruise, and they traveled extensively during her life. They were able to see and experience many different cultures in her lifetime. Margaret and Joe were champion dancers, and she remained physically active throughout her life.
Margaret was preceded in death by both of her parents, her sisters Amelia Ben David and Rosemary LaBollita, and her brothers Vinny and George Troche, and a granddaughter Mariah Santos, all of whom will be rejoicing in an eternal heavenly reunion.
Margaret will be greatly missed here on earth. She is survived by her family; adoring husband Joseph Santos, her only daughter Laura E. Santos (married to Wilton Castro), her two sons Adrian M. (married to Kathleen) and David J. Santos, and two grandchildren Martin Drake and Joseph Bartholomew Santos, as well as one surviving sibling her brother David Troche, extended family members and friends.
