Dear Manu Nani,
I know you as a simple, caring and loving person who enjoyed being around people and charmed everyone with a sweet smile. However, behind that simple and sweet disposition there was a strong resolve to pursue your passion, be it book reading, painting or physical fitness. You were a voracious reader who regaled in the speed and quantity of books read. You never wanted to miss a gym class or your evening walk and often tried to outdo a much younger person like my wife Rita in these pursuits. You spent countless hours to pursue your other passion ‘painting’ and your beautiful creations adorn the walls of your house and many others. Yor landscape paintings in acrylic demonstrate your skills and a sense of vivid colors. You had no inhibition to get on to the dance floor or ask a question to satisfy your curiosity.
You were the catalyst in making the decision to retire in Tampa and be close to us and Madhuri Nani. It is a blessing that we are all together in our twilight years, far away from our place of birth, surrounded by many wonderful friends. This move has also allowed me to get to know both you and Gain (Raj Narayan Babu) better. I have been blessed with your trust, love and affection. Over the years, I have enjoyed your spontaneous invitations to dinner and delicious food and been a part to numerous family get-togethers.
I will miss you, your frantic calls to me as your ‘Go to Guy’ in Tampa, and will cherish fond memories of a sweet, caring and smiling elder sister who has left us for her Heavenly Abode…a much nicer place than today’s earth. May your soul be free and attain “Moksha’.
