John Castelamare's Obituary
John Castelamare, 75, of Port Richey, Florida, passed away on March 29, 2025. A beloved father, grandfather, teacher, coach and neighbor, John dedicated his life to shaping the lives of others through his work in education and sports.
John was a retired teacher and football coach who had a profound impact on the communities he served. As the head coach at Ridgewood High School, Wesley Chapel High School, and Academy at the Lakes, he mentored countless students and athletes, leaving behind a legacy of leadership, discipline, ethics and kindness. His passion for the game and for guiding young minds made him a respected figure throughout the Tampa Bay area.
Preceded in death by his parents John and Angelina, he is survived by his brother Keith (Susan), two loving daughters, Brittany (James) and Brooke (Ali), and his five cherished grandchildren: Braden, Landon, Reagan, Stella, and Sophia. His family was his pride and joy; he treasured every moment spent with them.
John’s legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. He will be deeply missed, but his influence on his family, students, athletes and friends will remain forever. A visitation will be held at Trinity Memorial Gardens on Friday, April 11, starting at 10:00 a.m., followed by a memorial service at 11:00 a.m.
