In 2022 I was referred to Dr. Mathew by my primary physician for vascular insufficiency in my legs, one being worse than the other. I could tell right away that he was a kind and compassionate person, plus I was very impressed with his credentials. He had done a fellowship at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit. my home town before moving to St. Petersburg, Fl. Seems was very respected there which made me feel less anxious about treatment i was possibly going to need. I had ablation procedures on both legs by Dr. Mathew and follow up shortly after. Had checkup appt afterwards (6mos?) and Dr Mathew was not there. Dr Bunnell was seeing his patients for him while he was out. I thought it would be temporary at that time. My next appt the office said he would not be back. i was kind of shocked and did not know he was so sick and battling for his life. i continued my treatment with Dr Bunnell.
Today i had to look up something about my treatment and started wondering what happened to Dr Mathew and discovered that he had passed away. I feel very sad today to know that. He was a gifted doctor and surgeon and i'm sure made a difference in many patients lives that he treated and was far too young to be taken from us. My condolences go out to his family and the medical community that knew him. May he rest in peace and his memory be a blessing.
