Jayanti Patel's Obituary
Jayanti M. Patel, 81, of Land O Lakes, Florida passed away on September 10, 2024. He is survived by his wife, Usha, sons Rajan and Michael, daughter in laws, Ferzin and Shaki and grandsons Davin and Levi.
Jayanti was born on April 4, 1943 in Karamsad, India, to Manibhai and Chanchalben Patel, and was raised in Nairobi, Kenya. Jayanti was the fifth eldest child and brother to Kussumben (predeceased), Pushpaben, Hirubhai (predeceased), Niranjana, Suryakant, Kokila, Sujata, and Chandrika. Jayanti was married to Usha Shah on July 9, 1968. They were married for 56 years.
The young couple came to Queens, NY in 1969. Jayanti started working as a research pharmacist for two years and then later joined New York Life Insurance Company and excelled in his career as one of the top 50 agents in the company. He further educated himself in advanced underwriting and practiced as an estate planner. What made him excel was his belief that true personal customer interface was essential to understanding the needs of each of his clients. His integrity and dedication to his clients were the hallmarks of who he was as an individual.
As a new immigrant he understood the challenges and difficulties a new family faces coming from abroad. He spent countless hours and effort to sponsor and support his and Usha’s families, as well as families from India coming to America with his wife’s support. If there was an issue in the community, he was someone who would connect you to the right person to help your situation. Although he had a robust career, it was his gentle smile, kindness and humility that shined his light. He lived by espousing the values of honesty, optimism, loyalty, friendship, being of service, and hard-working.
Jayanti was a devout friend and always loved staying in touch with friends around the world. He was a loving father, grandfather, brother and husband who prided himself on helping others. He had an immense love for reading and learning about naturopathic medicine. He loved to help others in their quest for healthy living and wellbeing. He would share his learning and research to all who would listen. He enjoyed spending time with friends, family, listening to his music, singing, laughing to jokes, and especially being in nature.
Funeral services will be held on September 22, 2024, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Trinity Memorial Gardens, 12609 Memorial Drive, Trinity, FL 34655, with witness of cremation following puja.
