Gerry, just found out of your passing this afternoon from Cary Himes. Well old friend, I know you loved the Lord and I am sure he loved you. Think of you often and the many great times we shared back in the 70's in DC. Well brother, please keep me in your prayers. Eternal rest grant unto him O Lord and may perpetual light shine upon him. May the souls of all the faithfully departed through the mercy of God rest in peace....Amen
We remembered Jer as a wonderful person. My wife remembered when she was visited Jer & Ses years ago, she was very impressed on how Jerry shared lost of joy and took care of her during the stay. All we can say, though you're no longer here, your spirit lives on in the kindness you showed and the love you shared. Several years ago, for whatever reason, Jerry started a window washing business. Occasionally he couldn't keep up with the demand because his work was "cleaner and neater" than other cleaning services had provided but took longer to do. During a few of those times I would take the day off and help him get caught up.
He ALWAYS witnessed to the proprietor when hoping to get a new account and told them that his work was done "As to The Lord".
There was this one establishment who's entire front window was a gigantic array of individual paynes only about 6X9" in size. Each had to be done with a really small squeegee, and the corners of each one had to be clean and dried with a cloth. I think there were thousands of them.
He just kept reminding me that our love for the Lord shows in how well the job is done, and that some of his clients might never otherwise see the integrity of a true believer.
That, is the Jerry Farkas I know!

Went to church with Jerry and Silvana at First Baptist Church of Land O Lakes. He always had a smile and a firm hand shake. Silvana your in my thoughts and prayers. Luke 23:43 " Jesus replied" I assure you that today you will be with me in paradise. Jerry is now at home with the Lord and out of pain.
Jerry was a true friend to me and was also a serious student of the Word of God. His time spent in Bible study was evident by its content that he offered to others. He often asked what needs my wife and I had, so that he could pray for us, even though he had so many physical needs himself. His love for Silvana was evident through their many years of marriage. We all will miss Jerry and our prayers go out for Silvana's peace and comfort that only our Lord Jesus Christ can supply in ways none of us can offer. I worked with Gerald when he was a Detective in the Third District of The Metropolitan Police Department of Washington, D.C. in the 1970's. He was a good man and a great Detective. May he rest in Peace on The Thin Blue Line in Heaven.
