An ambassador for Christ, Frantz “Frantzy” Stevens Morisset of Wesley Chapel, Florida, passed away suddenly in Tampa, Florida on Wednesday, October 13, 2021 at the age of seventy-seven. Frantz was born on March 19, 1944 to Gladys Henry and Rossiny Morisset in Port-Au-Prince, Haiti. In 1966, he emigrated to the United States to continue his education. While attending the State University of New York in Staten Island, he taught Mathematics at Medger Evers College and tutored countless students to be successful in high school and college.
One of the founding members of Second Haitian Baptist Church in Brooklyn, he met Evelyne in 1967 and they were married in 1970. After he completed his graduate degrees in Chemistry in 1970, he worked for 3M for more than thirty years, retiring in 2002. When Frantz was not working as a chemist, he was meeting with pastors, evangelizing in the community, leading Bible studies, editing colleagues’ manuscripts, counseling youth, encouraging struggling friends, and leading conferences. His daughters are thankful for the father they had and his impact on their lives, including his love of music, his encouragement to think with the mind of Christ, and his unusual sense of humor. They will also miss cheering for the University of Texas Longhorn football team with him. He is survived by his wife of fifty-one years, Evelyne, and daughters, Peggy and Lesley. He loved his family dearly, which included many sisters, brothers, nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, and his extended Church family. He will be deeply missed.
The visitation will be held at Trinity Memorial Gardens, 12609 Memorial Drive, Trinity, Florida 34655, on Saturday, October 30th at 8:30 a.m. Following the visitation, a service and interment will take place from 10:00 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. Masks are highly encouraged.
