Dad, it’s been a little over a week since we lost you and I still can’t believe you are gone. As a kid I viewed you as the strongest man who knew absolutely everything. As an adult, I’ve seen you as the kindest man who loved everyone; except for the Mypillow guy on TV. You had an incredible sense of humor and were so witty, you always made everyone laugh. You were the perfect grandfather to both of my daughters and have left them with so many precious memories. You had so many friends you carried with you through childhood and they all told stories of how tough you were and how no body would dare mess with you, they would also say how protective you were of them and of anyone who was bullied. You loved your family and were so proud of us all. Your generosity was unmatched, you welcomed anyone who stepped foot into your home with open arms and sometimes would even offer them a gun or an antique as a parting gift. I am so grateful to have you as my father and proud of the man you were. Until we meet again, rest in peace and love. ❤️

My grandpa was one of the most special people in my life. When I was a kid, we’d spend hours playing games together in his den…he always had the most creative imagination. He had the biggest sweet tooth, and I’m pretty sure that’s where I got mine from. Dada, im speaking for both of us. He could never say no to a piece of chocolate or dessert, and maybe that’s why he was such a sweet man.
But what I’ll carry with me and cherish forever are his poems. His poems showed that on the inside, he was a thoughtful, intellectual, caring, man who saw the world in an intricate and beautiful way
I’ll miss his jokes, his funny stories, and his sweet tooth. but most of all, I’ll miss the way he made everyone in our family feel loved and beautiful. But if I ever miss him too much, I can always just look in my sissy’s eyes and see his too.

Frank, when we first met what attracted me to you were your beautiful blue eyes, it was as if I could look through and see your amazing soul. Your generosity was unbelievable and you would give me all kinds of jewelry. Throughout our marriage he left me in charge of everything but I didn’t mind because I knew he would always agree with everything I did. He was a great provider to his family and always very supportive with his son’s endeavors. Although he retired at young age from his job and he was always home we made it work because he was always supportive in everything I did. He had a passion for writing and expressed his thoughts beautifully. The words in his poems are treasures that we will keep forever. Frank loved his antiques and had a great eye for spotting unique items, but also would come home with different pets or gadgets so I was always left wondering what he was going to bring home next and his response was always it’s a good investment.
The last year of his life he was unable to walk, but he would always offer to help me with the groceries and every night before I went to bed he would ask me to call him if I needed anything. Even though he lost his mobility his kind, generous heart always wanted to be supportive. His favorite thing was to ask me for snacks because of his sweet tooth, even after I just gave him one he would ask for more and when I told him no he needed to wait he would always say please I just want 2 more cookies. All he ever wanted was something sweet to snack on.
Frank was an amazing husband, father, grandfather, uncle, cousin, and friend. He truly had a generous, loving heart and will forever be missed by all who knew and loved him. Rest in eternal peace my forever love you will always be in my heart.

Not Goodbye

It breaks my heart knowing you’re not here
Everytime I think about it, my eyes start to form a tear
But then I remember something that always brings me peace
It’s knowing you’re now with God above in heaven
And all your pain has been released
I’d give anything to hear you tell us one more story
Or find you the best chocolate cake
One in all it’s glory
But when i’m feeling sad
And i’m missing you more than ever
I’ll talk to you and i’ll ask
To see a sign in the form of a feather
You’re our guardian angel now, and we can look for you every single day
Knowing you’re still with us, brings me peace and reminds me that everything will be okay
I love you Grandpa and this is not goodbye
I know you’re not far, you’re just up above in heaven, flying oh so high

Frank I will always be thankful that I was blessed with the best father in law. Since the day I met you, I felt welcomed into your family with the warmth of your love, kindness, support, and guidance you provided. You were a strong, steady, wise, kind, funny, loving, generous man who truly had a heart of gold. You made everyone feel loved and appreciated and I am honored to be a part of the Vignera family. I will forever cherish the memories we shared. I will think of you every time I watch a hallmark movie because I know you loved the heartfelt ending just as much as I do. When I bake I will miss offering you a sweet treat knowing you would want some as you would giggle and say does a bear shit in the woods. I will miss your complements especially when I got my hair done asking if I did something different and state that you liked my blonde streaks. Most of all I will miss your kind, loving, caring ways. You may be gone but you are certainly not forgotten, you are always on our minds and forever in our hearts. Rest in Peace Frank, we love and miss you deeply, watch over and protect us our forever angel.

Dad its hard to accept your gone, my strong, tough, kind hearted, loving protector who I always looked up to and believed was the toughest man on earth is no longer here. The love and admiration I have for you will forever be in my heart. The love, confidence, strength, and guidance you provided will truly be missed. As a child I always knew if I wanted something to ask you not mommy, your kind, generous heart would do anything to make me happy regardless of the cost. Your generosity was extended to anyone who came into your home offering them something to eat or drink telling them that your wife was an amazing Italian cook and I know mom was secretly hoping they didn’t take you up on your offer. I will forever cherish the memories we shared, taking us to Yankee games, Nellie Bly, and the movies. We all knew growing up to play quietly while you were sleeping after working overnight because we were frightened to wake you and see your hair standing straight up. You were easy to please if you liked something you watched or listened to it on replay for hours and loved getting back rubs more than material things.
Through life’s ups and downs you have always been there for me, you were my rock and I will forever feel that void. My heart is truly broken and the pain I feel is overwhelming, I definitely inherited your kind, loving, generous, and sensitive traits. Now I know what a broken heart truly is because I never had this feeling in my life. Although you are gone your memory will live on forever in my heart and I will do my best to carry on your kind, generous, loving ways and support Mom during this difficult time of loss. The words in your poems inspire me and remind me that because you walked with Jesus you will never walk alone. Rest in eternal peace Dad I will love and miss you forever.

We grew up with uncle Frankie. We lived in Brooklyn in a three family home. He always had candy for us every morning at the edge of the stairs. Three bags, one for each of us. Uncle Frank always loved his gadgets. When video recorders first came out he would record us for hours. We would dance for him and do little skits. He was always a big part of our lives and we had so much fun growing up with him. Uncle Frankie was an amazing uncle, father, grandfather, brother, father-in-law and devoted husband. He loved old movies and would watch his favorites over and over on the same day. He loved writing poetry and became very good at it. We have a big hole in our hearts and can’t believe he is no longer with us. Your presence will always be with us and you will never be forgotten. Love you Lynn, Mary and Susan. Love you always our dearest uncle.

I often told Uncle Frankie that he was my favorite uncle, to which he would always reply “Well…you really don’t have many to choose from”. Uncle Frankie always made me smile. Whether he was showing me a clip from one of his favorite TV shows or the same family home videos for the hundredth time, he found such joy in sharing what he loved with his loved ones. He had the best sense of humor and his love language was teasing all of us saying things like “bring your boyfriends over so I can show them my gun collection”. He was always the perfect balance of sarcastic, goofy, and genuinely kind. He remains my favorite uncle and I will miss him dearly.
