Edwin C Brooks' Obituary
EDWIN C. BROOKS SR. Went home to be with our Lord on August 2, 2018. He passed at home with his wife, Kathryn by his side. Ed was born August 23, 1940.
Ed married Kathryn Brunner on Feb. 19, 1966. Ed lived in Montville, NJ and Brick, NJ before moving to Florida in 1993.
He leaves behind his devoted son, Edwin, Jr. (Holli) of Brick, NJ and his devoted daughter, Karyn French (Patrick) of Lutz, Florida, and most dear family friend, Dennis Smyth, who was like a son to them. Five grandchildren: Kevin Brooks, Chase Brooks, Amanda Brooks, Shane French and Zachary French, and sister in law and brother in law, Nancy and John Filipow of New Bern, NC, sister in law Denise Brunner of Portland, OR and numerous nieces and nephews.
Ed retired in 2003 after 41 years with American Airlines. He served with the U.S. Navy from 1958 to 1961. He was a member of the American Legion. He was also a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church where he was also a member of The Saint Vincent De Paul Society. He was a car enthusiast enjoying NASCAR and his extensive collection of classic cars; fishing, going to the Blue Ridge Mountains in the fall, being with his many friends at the gym 5 days a week and riding his motorcycle, but most of all his total and loving devotion to his family and friends.
Services will be held on August 18,2018 at 10:00, at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in New Port Richey, followed by interment at Trinity Memorial Gardens and a reception at St. Thomas Catholic Church.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Ed's memory to the American Cancer Society.
