Dear Kathy and family,
I will miss Ed more than you realize - he was a very dear friend, like a brother, always kind and considerate in everything he did. There was no finer person than Ed. I'll miss all the "debates" we used to have concerning daily events, and I'll miss his help whenever I ran into a fix-it problem. The man was a genius with a wrench! But most of all I'll miss his kindness and willingness to help in any way necessary. I could not have asked for a better neighbor or friend!
I don't see Ed as gone, just gone ahead to prepare the way for the rest of us. He's that kind of guy. Knowing Ed, I'm sure he's checking things out up there to make sure everything's running well.
He was a true American hero - he served his nation, his community, and his family and friends. And, in his final days, he showed us how courageous he was. He's a role model for the rest of us. No more could be asked of anyone.
Kathy, you and Ed were part of our family, and together going forward we will all remember and cherish his life.
