Earnest Edward Easom's Obituary
Earnest Edward Easom, affectionately known as "Ed," passed away peacefully on September 18, 2025, in Lutz, Florida, at the age of 92. Born in Iron City, Georgia, to Earnest and Dorothy Easom, Ed lived a life marked by devotion, service, and blooming beauty.
A proud 28-year veteran, Ed served his country with honor in the United States Army (Retired-Major). Following his service, he had a successful career as a financial controller/accountant. His dedication to precision and leadership extended beyond his military career and into every aspect of his life. Yet it was his passion for roses that truly defined his later years—Ed was a Master Rosarian, certified by the American Rose Society, and spent countless joyful hours cultivating gardens that reflected his love for nature and life.
Ed was preceded in life by his siblings Martha Loftin, Marvin Easom, Betty Clemmons, Joyce Pyfrom, and Ricky Easom. He is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years, Monika; daughter Carol Trail; grandson James McCallum and his wife Stefanie, along with their children Logan and Hailey; son Ed Easom Jr. and his wife Laura, and their children Sierra Easom and her fiancée Jake McDuffie, and Seth Easom; and siblings Faxon Bissett and his wife Alice, and Ann Trombley and her husband Alan.
His proudest achievements were his family—his wife, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. His legacy lives on in the lives he touched and the garden he nurtured with love and care.
Ed will be laid to rest with military honors at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida, on Friday, October 10, at 2:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project at https://www.woundedwarriorproject.org/donate, select "Honor & Memorial Donation", honoring Ed’s lifelong commitment to service and support for fellow veterans.
