Dean Mirabella's Obituary
Morris “Dean” Mirabella, age 56, of Tampa, Florida, went to be with our Lord and Savior on May 8, 2026, at his home surrounded by family.
Dean was born on July 12, 1969, in Tampa, Florida, to Morris and Mary Jo Mirabella. A lifelong resident of the Tampa Bay area, Dean graduated from Chamberlain High School in 1988 and went on to attend the University of South Florida, where he earned a degree in Economics.
Dean and Carla’s love story began in December 1987, when he fell in love with his high school sweetheart. They were married on January 7, 1995, and together built a beautiful life rooted in love, their faith in Jesus Christ, family, and devotion. Their more than 38 years together, including 31 years of marriage, were a true testament to commitment, partnership, and the joy of walking through life side by side.
Dean joined Cigna Healthcare in 1995 and dedicated 31 years to the company, serving in several leadership roles including Regional Growth Leader for the Southeast Region, Market President for North Florida, and Vice President of Distribution for Florida and the Caribbean. He was known for his strong leadership, warm heart, dedication to his team, and the meaningful impact he made throughout the Southeast. Dean also served on the Board for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Tampa Bay and believed deeply in giving back to the community he called home his entire life.
Above all, Dean loved his family. His happiest moments were spent with them — on cruises, in the Smoky Mountains, at Disney, in Italy, or simply gathered together enjoying good food, laughter, and time with one another. He valued staying active, loved working out, had a servant’s heart, especially through volunteering at church, and adored his beloved doggy, Hope.
Dean was most proud of his marriage to Carla, the life they built together, his children, and the blessing of being “Nano.” While he was deeply proud of his career accomplishments at Cigna Healthcare, his greatest legacy was the love, faith, hard work, and devotion he poured into his family.
Dean is survived by his beloved wife, Carla Mirabella; his son, Tyler Mirabella and his wife, Alex; his daughter, Gabrielle Vicinanza and her husband, Mike; his grandsons, Luca Dean Mirabella and Michael Banner Vicinanza; his parents, Morris and Mary Jo Mirabella; his sisters, Patty Rodriguez and her husband, Chris, and Leslie Alessi and her husband, Nick; his brother-in-law, Danny Rodriguez; and his nieces and nephews, Gianna and Jake Thomas, Alana and Brandon Hawkins, Nicholas and Kirsten Alessi, Natalia Alessi, Juliana Rodriguez, and Danny Rodriguez.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Sebastian “Buster” and Teresa Mirabella as well as Benny and Josephine Capitano
A funeral service will be held on May 15, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Grace Family Church, 5101 Van Dyke Road, Lutz, FL 33558, with Pastor Ralph Johnson and Pastor Mark Hutchinson officiating.
Cremation arrangements are being handled by Trinity Memorial Gardens. There will be no separate visitation. Guests are invited to gather at the Mirabella home following the service.
In honor of Dean’s generous heart and love for family, memorial donations may be made through Carla Mirabella’s March of Dimes Signature Chefs: Feeding Motherhood Tampa fundraiser:
