I don’t know how to put 23 years of memories into just one favorite moment. While I never told him directly, I hope Dean knew how much of a mentor he was to me and the incredible impact he had on my life.
I looked to Dean for advice, guidance, and support. He welcomed me with open arms and treated me like a son. In a world that feels so busy, Dean always made time for the people he loved. Even when I wasn’t around as much in recent years, that never stopped him from taking over Ty’s FaceTime calls just to ask how things were going and make sure we were okay.
If I had to choose one memory, it would be attending one of Ty’s college football games with the family. There was nothing better than seeing the pride and excitement on Dean’s face as he watched his son live out his dream. It’s a moment that perfectly captured who he was — a proud father, devoted family man, and someone who found joy in the happiness of others.
To the man who taught me so much and helped shape the person I am today, I will be forever grateful. Dean’s impact on my life will never be forgotten.
Mr. Dean, thank you for everything. You will be missed by all.
