What a shock to hear today of this wonderful man's death. I can't believe it. Always so full of life and so eager to help solve my vision problems, he made every yearly visit a pleasure. He absolutely loved his work. He was my OD for years and I was looking forward to more years as he told me when I saw him last, that he had no plans for retiring any time soon. I guess God had a different idea. I will miss him. My sincere condolences to his beloved family.
I was going to get contacts tomorrow and I learned of his passing. I remember going to his office 2 years ago and talking to him about ideas for my stories before I made them into comics. He always was very interested in them. He was a very ethical person and the kindest doctor I have ever meet. I will immortalize him by making a character based off of his amazing personality to go into my comics. R.I.P
I am so sorry to read this. I was doing a bit of research on doctors who are part of the EasyScan family and I see this. I had the pleasure to work with on numerous occasions at his location at Citrus Park Mall. Dr. P was truly one of the most friendliest kindest doctors I have ever met. My condolences to his family and friends. I for sure remember a great man and doctor. May he rest in peace.
I had the pleasure of working with Dr Palmisano and experienced his kindness that he showed to his patients but also his employees. He had a genuine heart, and would always ask if we needed anything such as a simple thing like lunch. You could tell he enjoyed his career as an optometrist and had a passion for learning. He also spoke of his wife and family often, even sharing a recipe that I still use today. I will always remember how sweet and caring Dr P was, not only to his patients but to his staff. The world truly lost a great person. My thoughts reach out to his family.
My husband Michael and I are so sorry to hear about Dr. P. He was our optometrist for years.
Thoughts and prayers go to the family. He was the best!!
So sorry to hear this news. Jim & Kim Rudolph
My granddaughter was a patient of Dr. Palmisano since she was in middle school. She is now a Jr. At FSU. and planning to go to Optometry School . She was always asking Dr. Parmisano questions about this career. Everytime she went to see him, he would take a lot of time answering her questions and encouraging her to follow her dream of becoming an Optometrist. She talked to him about shadowing sometime when she would be home from school. We are very grieved to hear of his passing. A man of great compassion, and caring. Always positive with his great smile ! We send our thoughts and prayers to the family. Patricia Beak and Summer Cantone
Dan and I were roommates during our junior year at Adelphi. The tag on our door read "Salty (me) and Coach". Dan was indeed a coach. People loved him and his wry sense of humor. I considered it an honor to room with him. Larry Toperoff and I went to visit Dan and Marty Sinclair during their first few months at Optometry School. I still remember the small, fourth story walk-up apartment they shared in Boston. I brought my dog, Juliette, for the weekend visit. Dan, proudly displaying his new equipment, decided to give Larry an eye exam. He motioned Larry to focus his vision in one direction or another, but basically said nothing for 15 minutes. Finally, Dan turned to Marty and me and said: "Can Juliette be fitted for a harness?".
Kathy, I don't know anyone who didn't love Dan. My deepest condolences.
