Armando H Godinez's Obituary
Armando Hinojosa Godinez (“Mickey”), 76, of Tampa, Florida passed away on December 16, 2025. He was born September 3, 1949 in Mathis, Texas.
In 1970 Mr. Godinez married Leticia Armadillo in Corpus Christi, Texas.
He served over 20 years in the United States Air Force, retiring in 1989. During his time in the USAF he earned numerous decorations, medals, badges, citations, and campaign ribbons including: Meritorious Service Medal, Joint Service Commendation Medal, Air Force Commendation Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Air Force Overseas Short Tour Ribbon, Air Force Overseas Long Tour Ribbon, Air Force Longevity Service Award Ribbon with/4BOLC, NCO Professional Continuous Active Military Service, Military Education Grad Ribbon with/1BOLC, Small Arms Expert Marksmanship Ribbon with/1BSS, Air Force Training Ribbon, Defense Meritorious Service Medal, NCO Academy, Air Force Command and Control Specialist, and Senior NCO Academy.
He then worked for 30 years at Tampa International Airport, retiring as Ground Transportation Manager in 2019.
Mr. Godinez graduated from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (“The Harvard of the Skies”) in 1993. He attended Mathis High School, where he lettered in baseball and football, in Mathis, Texas.
He is survived by his wife, Leticia Godinez; daughters, Tish Buzby and Patricia Godinez; granddaughters, Alexandria and Audrey Buzby; and great-grandson, Colton.
