Mr. Godinez touched so many lives with laughter, joy, and care that his passing leaves a hole in all our hearts. Prayers to you all.
Growing up next door to your family gave me more fond memories than I could ever count. From holidays spent together and summer cookouts and certainly the well-known Mickey sense of humor. The Godinez home was a place of warmth, laughter, great food, and a lot of love. I’ll never forget the time I panicked after forgetting where I parked at the airport—Mr. Godinez came to my rescue, turning a stressful situation into a happy reunion filled with jokes and laughter, another example of his kindness and dependability.
Mr. Godinez and my father were the closest of friends for as long as I can remember. Through my entire life, they were inseparable—meeting after work to rehash the day with my Dad’s standard “hey Bubba!” greeting, playing golf together, always finding time to connect, and supporting each other through every season of their life’s journey. Their friendship was something truly special, built on decades of loyalty, laughter, and genuine care for one another.
While my heart aches for all of you during this difficult time, I find comfort in knowing that my father was surely one of the first to greet Mr. Godinez in heaven. I can picture it now—Dad waiting with a fully stocked golf cart, ready to head out on heaven’s perfect course. They’re catching up, chasing that little white ball, and enjoying the kind of round they always talked about. When they’re done, they’ll get right back to what they do best: watching over all of us until that beautiful day when we can all be together again.
With love and sympathy,
Nic
