Alvin Thomas' Obituary
Alvin Thomas, also known as Dugga, peacefully passed away at his home in Odessa, Florida on November 16, 2021. He was born December 13, 1936, in Port of Spain, Trinidad to Cyril Thomas and Iris Villafana.
After graduating from high school in Trinidad, Alvin migrated to Canada to attend George Brown College. While in Canada, he continued to follow his passion by playing soccer for a local team in Toronto. Shortly thereafter, he met his wife of 41 years, Margaret Thomas. Alvin migrated to the States to be with his wife where they eventually made their landing spot in Florida. Together they raised their 2 daughters, Natesa and Akeema. Alvin had a passion for music, soccer, exploring new endeavors, and most importantly, his family.
In addition to his parents, Alvin was predeceased by his sisters Joyce Lewis and Joan Gibbons. He is survived by sisters, Elsa Hislop and Claudia Skerritt, brother Frankie Frederick, wife, Margaret Thomas, daughters, Natesa Lormine and Akeema Thomas-George, son-in-laws, Philippe Lormine and Clevon George, and granddaughters, Sachelle and Elliana Lormine. He is also survived by his cousins, nieces and nephews.
A service will be held on November 23, 2021, at 10:30am at Our Lady of the Rosary, 2348 Collier Pkwy, Land O’ Lakes, FL 34639.
