One of my earlier memories of Alvin Dugga Thomas goes back to a J’Ouvert morning some time in the mid-60’s on Independence Square, Port of Spain, when he came up to me and gave me a big hug while he was totally dressed in mud and I was in my police uniform. After ensuring that I was well and truly covered in mud, he joyfully skipped away, very likely in search of others to hug, while for me that was the end of my tour of duty.
Goodbye Dugga, your mission here has ended and you have been called home to rest safely in the arms of the Creator. Rest in Perfect Peace.
