Yvonne Elizabeth Knecht's Obituary
Yvonne Elizabeth Knecht entered into the loving arms of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Sunday, October 13, 2024. Yvonne was 87 years of age. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 66 years, Bruce Frederick Knecht. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Frederick Lovell and Annie May (Cunningham) Lovell, her sister, Edith (Lovell) Butler and her eldest daughter, Bonnie Ann Knecht.
Yvonne is survived by her daughter, Eva-Marie Mills (Roger), son Bruce Allen Knecht (Robin), 5 grandchildren; Amy (Bogun) Russo, James Bogun, Ashley (Knecht) Lash, Amber (Knecht) Phelps, Alec Knecht, and 12 great-grandchildren.
Yvonne worked for many years as a Bookkeeper/Office Administrator at Clearwater Christian College in Clearwater, Florida. After moving for retirement to North Carolina, her and her husband decided to obtain their broker’s real estate licenses and started their successful real estate business, Country Life Realty in Cullowhee, North Carolina.
Yvonne was born in Stamford, Connecticut, later moving back and forth between Florida and North Carolina.
Yvonne and her husband, Bruce were the founders of Keystone Bible Church of Odessa, Florida, beginning services in their home with a few neighbors and friends. The church grew quickly, and a church building was erected on Keystone Road a/k/a Tarpon Springs Road. The first “official” Pastor was Dr. Norman Spotts and the church continues to this day. Yvonne was also an active member at Victory Baptist Church in Sylva, North Carolina and at Northside Bible Church in Tampa, Florida.
Yvonne was very proud of the fact (as was her family), that she earned her pilot’s license and owned her own Cessna 172 plane for a time in her early married years in Weston, Connecticut.
Yvonne will be remembered by her family and friends as someone that was unwavering in her faith and always set an example of a life well lived. She will be missed greatly, but the family takes comfort in knowing that she is no longer in pain and suffering, and that we will someday join her in heaven with our Lord and Savior.
Yvonne will be buried in Trinity, Florida on Monday, October 21, 2024, at Trinity Memorial Gardens.
“He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.”
Psalm 91:1-2
