Winifred Joyce “Judy” Porter
March 3, 1936 – October 7, 2021
Winifred Joyce “Judy” Porter, 85, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Thursday, October 7, 2021. She was born in Triplett, KY to George W. and Beulah E. (Fite) Williams. She was a graduate of Guyan Valley High School in Branchland W.V. and attended the University of Southern Mississippi. She married Paul Everett Porter on January 29, 1955 and was blessed with a loving marriage of 65 years.
Judy taught the Wilton Cake Decorating class for several years in Land O’ Lakes and Tampa, FL. In 1982, she began a successful real estate career with ERA-The Polo Group until her retirement in 1993. She achieved the level of a multi-million dollar producer and earned numerous recognitions.
Judy volunteered and gave of her time through the years to numerous organizations. She was involved with the American Cancer Society, Land O’ Lakes Little League and the Red Cross Angels.
Judy and Paul spent over 25 years traveling to many places, but especially loved Captiva Island and Jackson Hole, WY. In addition, they enjoyed friends and family, fishing, Disney, and their love of God.
Judy is preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Harold, George, Loren, Cartmal and Kenneth and sisters, Thelma Williams, Lorena Barbour, Ida Mae Sage, and Mildred Lewis. Left to grieve are her son Mark A. (Connie Jo), her daughter, Paula J. Porter-Smith (Robbie), brother Homer (Gloria), sister-in-law, JoAnn Williams, along with grandchildren, Luke Porter (Christin), Lindsay Warren (Seth), and Tiffani Smith (Jimmy Luna). Judy was blessed with four great grandchildren, Blakely, Remington, Cole, Boden and the fifth will arrive in April 2022. In addition, she is survived by many nieces and nephews.
Services will be held in the Chapel at Trinity Memorial Gardens on Monday, October 18, 2021.
Visitation 12:30 pm – 1:00 pm
Funeral Service 1:00 pm – 1:30 pm
Graveside Committal 1:45 pm
The family will receive friends for fellowship and reception following the services in the event room at Trinity Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers a contribution may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
