Bill Stuehr
I just learned that Bill passed. My condolences to the Terlop family.
My earliest memory of Bill is that of a young man strolling through the ASM heat treating show in Cleveland, Ohio. I was a high school student working as a draftsman part time for Commercial Induction also in Cleveland. My boss told me to go find Bill at the show because a 300 pound induction output transformer needed to be rebuilt ASAP. It was the middle of a Cleveland winter and arriving at the show, I asked an exhibitor, "How do I find Bill Terlop"? He said look for the only guy with a dark tan. Soon sure enough strolling down the isle was Mr. Tan-man. I introduced myself and told him that my boss had a 300 pound transformer to take with him back to Florida. Bill laughed and stated that the airline might object to checking a suitcase that heavy. My boss thought he drove up from Florida......in winter!
The years passed, I started my own induction business and came to rely on Bill's expertise. At the heat treating shows, I would try to locate my both by Bill and his wonderful family of employees. Bill had a great smile, a wonderful sense of humor and I liked him as a friend.
