The Life of Virginia Rebecca Johnson Wentz
On October 28th, 2020 Virginia passed away peacefully at home to be with our Heavenly Father. Born in Philadelphia, June 3, 1934 to her late parents Frederick Charles (SR) & Ethel Mary (McCullough) Johnson. Virginia was married to Harry Albert Wentz. She celebrated her 86th birthday in June.
Raised in Philadelphia, Virginia worked at GE as a secretary before marrying Harry on October 5th, 1956. They moved to Miami, FL in November, 1969 with their 5 children and would be Floridians for the rest of their lives. Being a Christian, she loved to read her bible daily, spend time with her large family, travel, lead others to God, teach her grandchildren, among many others, to swim, sewing was a great passion and as she aged, she did her many crossword puzzles and played cards (which she usually won).
During her life, she worked as an administrative secretary and swim instructor, volunteered with her daughters swim teams, lead Bible studies at home and at the prisons.
Virginia is survived by her 5 children, Frederick (Gina), Harry Jr., Virginia (Byron), Alice (Greg) and Karen (Jim). Her baby Paul Andrew is finally reunited with her. She is also survived by her loving sisters Ruthann Rich and Claire Williams. Six grandchildren, Bryan Norrie, Jason Norrie, Michael Barfield, Vanessa Rose, Christopher Wentz, Jennifer Barfield, and Tiffany Wentz (2019) in heaven with her. She also has 13 beautiful great grandchildren. She is survived by a niece Dorothy, and nephews Glenn & Ryan Virginia is also preceded by her brother Frederick Jr.
Virginia was a beautiful woman, wonderful Mother, wife, grandmother, sister and friend of many. She was loved by all who met her. She had a great sense of humor which was part of the joy of her loving personality. We will miss her greatly and are blessed that we will one day see her again.
