Rhonda Overton
To the Maturo family:
My deepest condolences and heartfelt love go out to all of you.
Even though it has been many years, I remember meeting and conversing with all of jimmy's brothers and sisters, during the time he and I were very close. I am so thankful for those years when we were skating partners, close friends, confidants, and together romantically. I never fell out of love with him, even when he wasn't always easy to love!
I will cherish the good times we shared forever. He had a huge heart, a generous soul, and a brilliant mind. In spite of any adversity in his life, he had a strong will to succeed, and better himself. He was artistic, and talented in so many ways, and appreciated the good things, even if they were simple, like the ice cream we shared together after skating; or spectacular, like him whisking me off, like a prince charming, to a romantic getaway, just the two of us, in London. Those were golden days. I am so thankful he and I reconnected and communicated almost daily with each other over the passage of the year prior to his passing. Now, in his absence, I sincerely wish for all of you to know how much I dearly loved him, and always will. The things that help us through his loss are happy memories, our love and caring for each other, and faith in the resurrection. God willing, we will all see him in a better time and place. Thank you all for allowing me to be a part of his memorial services.
