Trudy Joy Karydis' Obituary
Trudy, with her husband Victor at her side, went home to Jesus peacefully in the early morning hours of Tuesday, April 9th, 2024, after a very heroic battle with cancer. She is also survived by the other two loves of her life, her sons, Noah and Jonah, as well as her mother Lucille Gerber, mother-in-law Joanna Markakis, brother Kevin Gerber and sister Tracey Roth, brother-in-law Peter Karydis and wife Stacy, niece Jade, nephews Ben, Max and Joshua, aunts, uncles, cousins and the family’s enormous group of extraordinary and supportive friends.
Trudy was born in Stratford, Ontario, Canada to Kenneth and Lucille Gerber on January 6, 1970. At age 13 she moved with her family to New Port Richey, Florida where she attended Gulf High School and later USF in Tampa before meeting Victor. They enjoyed 24 years of friendship and 21 years of marriage together. Over the years they expanded their community of friends, there was always somebody new welcomed to their table.
She pursued a career with Maximum Marketing, a brokerage company that represents dozens of health and nutrition companies. Her love for holistic health kept her in the natural industry for over 25 years. During that time she made many friendships that lasted a lifetime. The one thing she enjoyed the most was the opportunity she had to homeschool her two boys. It brought her closer to them as she cherished the time they would spend together, teaching them about different subjects and the importance of God’s word.
Some of her favorite things to do were fellowship with friends and family, going for long bike rides, attending her boys sporting events, traveling, sunsets at the beach, being around babies, a good grass fed steak, serving in different ministries, listening to bible teachers and worshiping God.
For the last couple of years Trudy was asked to lead a group called Healing Strong, a ministry designed to help others going through cancer by educating them on holistic treatments, the importance of good nutrition and supplementation and biblical principals in terms of dealing with emotions.
Trudy transitioned from this life to eternity and joined many other family members and friends that preceded her, “and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.” Revelation 21.4
In lieu of flowers, the family is in the process of establishing a foundation in her honor to provide assistance for individuals who cannot afford certain treatments and supplementations for cancer. More details to follow shortly.
The service will be held Monday, April 22nd, 2024 starting at 10AM at Life Church, 6224 Old Pasco RD, Wesley Chapel, Florida followed by a gathering with family and friends at Trinity Memorial Funeral Home, 12609 Memorial Drive, Trinity, Florida.
"And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is Love." 1 Corinthians 13.3
