Todd Scott Minear's Obituary
Todd Scott Minear, 52, of Lutz, Florida passed away on May 4, 2025, in Tampa, Florida.
Todd was the only child of Gerry and Diane Minear, born in Clearwater, Florida on March 26, 1973. He graduated in 1991from Countryside High School in Clearwater and later graduated from the University of Florida in Gainesville in 1996 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Therapy. He worked as a physical therapist for over 30 years, owning his own practice for 20 years and later working as a chief executive for the Advent Hospital group, PT Solutions, and Florida Orthopaedic Institute. He also provided physical therapy services for several private clients.
Todd was an avid fisherman, boater, and charter captain and was most at home near the ocean. He was a sports enthusiast and a loyal supporter of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Tampa Bay Rays, and Tampa Bay Lightning. He was a lifelong “Gator” and represented them often, always with pride. Todd enjoyed many types of music and could always be found singing, dancing, and tapping along. Todd also attended weekly services at The Chapel in Trinity, Florida where he was a proud member of the Outdoor Disciples faith group.
Todd will be remembered for his infectious smile, larger than life personality, and tremendous bear hugs. He was a friend to all who knew him and willingly shared his humor, kindness, generosity, and love with his friends and family. He was a friend to everyone he’d meet and never hesitated to lend a helping hand. He touched everyone he knew, and his spirit lives on leaving an indelible mark on everyone who had the pleasure and honor of knowing him. He was a deeply devoted and committed son, father, and life partner putting those he loved above all else.
He is preceded in death by wife, Kasey Minear, and father, Gerry Minear. He is survived by his fiancée Stephanie Labutis, daughter Brooke Minear, mother Diane Minear, and Patrick and Elise Labutis.
A celebration of life will be announced by the family at a later date.
