Thomas Joseph Swan's Obituary
Thomas Joseph Swan went home to be with the Lord on March 30, 2025. He was born in Chicago, Illinois on July 19, 1939. He was married 62 years to his loving spouse, Janet Lou Swan, who died in 2022. Tom is survived by his beloved children, Laura Willis (husband Mike), Kathi Swan (husband Bob) and Mark Swan. He was preceded in death by children Michael and LuAnn. Tom dearly loved his grandchildren, Jenny Garces (husband Esteban), Sandi Welch (husband Ron), Tricia Rawicki (husband Bennett), Stephen Beutler (wife Ansley), Meggie Hamrick (husband Josh), Ginny Patrick (husband Chris) and Carli Willis. He delighted in his precious family, especially his fourteen great grandchildren. Tom was an active member of Idlewild Baptist Church where he had served as a deacon. Tom was a wise Certified Financial Planner and commercial banker for 50 years. He held a Bachelors Degree in Finance from University of Illinois, a MBA from University of South Florida and a graduate banking degree from the Stonier Graduate School of Banking at Rutgers University. During his retirement, Tom became a leader in the Convention of States, a grassroots organization dedicated to fulfilling Article 5 of the Constitution. Tom was a kind and godly man who dearly loved Jesus, America, family, reading, dogs, the Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears. He saw the best in people and loved to encourage others. We are blessed to call him “Dad” and he is greatly missed.
