Steven Zimmerman's Obituary
Steven Zimmerman, 65, of Gulf Harbors, Florida, passed away on July 27, 2025. He was born on November 10, 1959, in Tenafly, New Jersey, where he remained until moving to Florida’s East Coast in 1983. He was married to his lovely wife Mary, whom he met on the sands of Hollywood Beach in 1984. They relocated to Florida’s Gulf Coast in 2000. Together, the couple have one son, Tyler, an alumnus of Florida State University.
Steven made his career as a full-time Licensed Realtor and held certifications in both ABR and GRI. He was a driving force for Tropical Life Realty, marketing and selling homes from within Gulf Harbors, his Coastal Family and Boating-Friendly Community on the Gulf of America. He was the Developer's Representative from 2000 to 2010, and a MultiMillion Dollar and Top Sales Associate. Steven had a strong work ethic, a culmination of growing up in Marcia’s, a family-owned North Jersey retail environment, and working in conjunction with two of South Florida's Premier Waterfront Developers for over a decade.
Steven was a beloved husband and a devoted father and grandfather. When he was not working, Steven loved nothing more than to be on the water with Mary, boating, playing, and tanning in the sun’s rays. He was an active and proud supporter of his son’s post-college education and sports interests, including being a volunteer coach when his son was younger. There was nothing that Steven wouldn’t do to help and support his family and friends. Steven’s granddaughter Cece was the light of his life.
Steven is survived by his wife Mary; his son Tyler and his wife Grace; his granddaughter Cece; his brother Robert and his wife Barbara; his sister-in-law Joanna and her husband Tom; his mother in-law “Grandma”, his nieces Taylor, Samantha, and Erica; his nephews Rusty and Josh; and all of the puppies he has loved over the years (Tally, Maddie, Luke, Charlie, Pebbles, and Scruffy).
