Stephen was born June 22, 1940 in Tampa, Florida to Salvador and Hilda Vicari. His occupations consisted of a truck driver for Carolina Freight and owning and operating two auto mechanic shops with his brother, John. He was a strong and courageous man who fought life’s battles to the very end without complaint. He was never without that contagious smile on his face, even on his worst days. He loved fascinating his family and friends with his story telling, as he was a wonderful story teller and had a story for life’s many situations, and many would leave you in stitches. He truly was an inspiration to so many with his words of wisdom. The man had many loves -- his land, his truck, his guns, hunting, fishing, fixing cars, but above all, the profound love he had for his family. He’s truly a hero in the eyes of many, but to his family, especially two grandsons, he was everything. Steve was so full of life and love, always seeing the positive side of everything. His presence in life will be greatly missed.
There are certain people in this world that have an impact on you the first time you meet them. They inspire something in you, make you smile, make you laugh, make you feel. These people are special to this world. They bring the life and the light into every day. They are the ones that foster love, compassion, and humility within humankind. Steve was one of these people. They are the angels on earth. Steve was an angel. A generous, kind hearted, hard working, loving, and selfless man that lived for his wife, children, grandchildren, friends, and neighbors. He was our rock, and we, his legacy.
