Stephen Roggie's Obituary
ROGGIE, Stephen Clark
76, of Tampa, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, died
August 15, 2017, after battling cancer without complaint for
more than eight years. Born in Indianapolis, IN, July 8, 1941,
Mr. Roggie was the son of W. Clark Roggie and Sarah Frances
(Downs) Roggie. Stephen Roggie was an Eagle Scout and a
1959 graduate of Broad Ripple High School in Indianapolis. He
was a member of Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity and editor of
the yearbook at Ball State University, earning his bachelor’s
degree in 1963. He married Carol (Rukes) Roggie, also of Indianapolis,
in May 1964. Mr. Roggie was a junior high school teacher and an athletic
coach for five years. He was honorably discharged from the
United States Army in 1971. Mr. Roggie was a real estate appraiser,
an SRA designee of the Appraisal Institute, and a corporate
vice president for an Indianapolis real estate firm. Upon
moving to Tampa in 2002, Mr. Roggie extended his career as a
review appraiser until December 2016, when his health would
no longer allow him to work. Mr. Roggie was a 33rd degree Mason, a past commander inchief
of Indiana Consistory, and a member of Century Masonic
Lodge, Scottish Rite and Murat Shrine. Stephen Clark Roggie is survived by his loving wife of 53
years, Carol; his daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer Roggie
Fearnow and David Fearnow of Tampa; his son and daughterin-
law, Stephen Clark Roggie II and Sarah Fraidin Roggie of
Potomac, MD; a sister, Margo J. Page of Indianapolis, IN; and
grandchildren, George Roggie, Keaton Fearnow, Allison Fearnow,
and Clark Roggie. Following a life of quiet and humble service to God, family,
and country, Stephen Clark Roggie will be celebrated by his
closest loved ones at a private memorial remembrance. Memorial
contributions may be made to the Indianapolis Scottish
Rite Cathedral Foundation.
