Steve and I shared a small part of our youth together, and during that time I saw a young man who was very enchanting, charming, and had an absolutely wonderful, joyful sense of humor that he made everyone laugh. I also saw a man who had such love and passion for the performing arts. Steve loved playing all kinds of characters, and he did it with such professionalism and conviction that he made the character that he was playing truly came to life. Those skills that Steve had was deeply admired by those who also performed with him. Even though life did not end up the way we thought when we started out together, I do consider myself blessed for being the mother of his children, Cassandra and Carson. The loss of Steve has left a huge void in the lives of Cassandra, Carson and especially Kelley who was faithfully by his side through thick and thin, and I know Steve loved her dearly. My deepest sympathies and condolences to my dear children, Kelley, and the entire Keyes family. Stay strong in The Lord and he will guide all of you who are grieving through this difficult chapter in your lives. With true heartfelt sympathy, Bernadette Zapata
