Shirley Bowman's Obituary
Bowman, Shirley, 84, of Trinity, passed away on July 20, 2015 under HPH Hospice care. Shirley was born in Detroit, MI in 1930 and at an early age showed an interest in dancing and acting. She attended Redford High School in Detroit and was involved with the Drama Club and various other club activities. After graduation, Shirley pursued a career in accounting and real estate while being very active in the Suburban Theater Guild in Detroit for 15 years which involved theater productions, mujusicals and dramas and numerous charity functions. Shirley retired in 1984 and moved to Florida as a full time resident with her husband, Ralph. They originally located in Forest Lakes estates in Oldsmar for seven years where she assisted Ralph in his duties as President of the Homeowners Association and Publishing the local news letter. The next 10 years, they lived in Crescent Oaks, Tarpon Springs, and were Founding Members of the Crescent Oaks Golf and Country Club. Shirley loved golf and played several times a week. Early 2001 they moved to Heritage Springs, Trinity, where she was currently residing with her husband of 60 years. They had two children, Lisa and Gregory. Shirley loved to read and had a passion for all animals. She is survived by husband, Ralph; daughter, Lisa and her husband Richard (Butch) and grandson, Jon Bodin; and son, Gregory and his wife WendyJo. Friends received at Trinity Memorial Gardens Chapel from 1 p.m. until service time at 2 p.m. on Friday, July 24. Donations can be made to Pasco Humane Society or HPH Hospice.
