Shelby was born in Washington, DC in 1955. She married Cleve Stanley in November 1971. Cleve and Shelby raised their children together in Germantown, Maryland before moving to Tarpon Springs, Florida in 1994. After that they lived in the Odessa/Trinity, FL area since 2002. As devoted and loving wife to Cleve, Shelby loved to talk about all the great memories from their 51 years of marriage, including the yearly family trips they took to Myrtle Beach.
Shelby was very proud of her children and grandchildren. She also adored the time spent with her son-in law, Todd who took her to many of her appointments.
She loved catching up with other friends and relatives through Facebook and enjoyed seeing pictures of everyone, especially her nieces and nephews and their children.
Shelby loved dogs and will be missed by her loving dog Toby, who she adored. She also loved interior design and collecting beautiful pieces of art and furniture. She enjoyed “Chick Fil A Chicken” Sandwiches. She’d never passed up an opportunity to ask her daughter to stop for a “Chick Fil A Party” in the car on the way home from her doctor appointments. She will be missed by all, but never forgotten.
Services will be held at Trinity Memorial Gardens in Trinity, FL with burial to follow at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL.
