Sharon-Ann Gloria Parker's Obituary
Sharon-Ann Gloria Parker, 78, of New Port Richey, Florida, passed away peacefully on February 4, 2024, at Marliere Hospice. She was born to Ira and Lillian Smith (Motel) on November 17, 1945, in New Haven, Connecticut. She married John Parker (Sr.), a US Navy veteran in 1966, with whom she shared a lasting love until her final moments.
Along with John Sr., she was a loving and supportive mother to two sons, John Jr. (Valrico) and Jeremy (Homestead), and a proud grandmother of her two grandsons, Justin and Jase.
Sharon-Ann was a dedicated nurse who began her career as an RN in 1965. Her commitment to the wellness of herself and others showed not only through her work as a nurse, but also in the years she spent serving with Weight Watchers. She was a vigilant and compassionate advocate for the safety and dignity of those in her care, especially of the elderly. Countless patients benefited from her attention to detail and loving demeanor.
Sharon-Ann was a devout member of St. Stephens Episcopal Church in New Port Richey, where she served as a member of the vestry and at the altar, led the outreach program, and supported the thrift store.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Ira and Lillian, and her stepfather, Harold Morse. She is survived by John Sr., her sons, John Jr. (Heather) and Jeremy (Windy), and her two grandsons, Justin and Jase.
A funeral service will be held at Trinity Memorial Gardens on February 13, 2024, at 2:00 pm. All are welcome to come to the visitation to say their goodbyes at 1:00 pm.
