Savitaben Shah's Obituary
Today, we celebrate the life of our mother. At the age of 89, Savitaben Kanulal Shah passed away peacefully on April 22, 2023 in Clearwater, Florida. She was born on December 3, 1934 in Bamroli (Vaso) near Nadiad, Gujarat, India to Shankerlal Maganlal and Maniben Shah.
Savitaben married Kanulal Amratlal Shah in 1951. Together, they moved from India to Kenya, and finally to the United Kingdom in 1972. After the passing of her husband in 1983, Savitaben flourished independently in East London, UK before finally moving to the USA in 2012. She was affectionately known as “Mr. Baa” within the East Ham community. She loved her “58” bus route to get around East London with her posse. She will be remembered for her caring personality, her strong will, and her strength. She always placed everybody else’s happiness before her own, and has been the rock for our family.
