My dear friend Dr.K,
You and Rajyam were always there when I was alone and needed help.
I will never forget that as long as I live.
I am thankful for knowing someone like you.May your soul rest in peace.
As the temple celebrates Thyagaraja Aradhana, Dr. Korabathina will be conspicuous by his absence. He was not only a frequent moderator, but his rich baritone lent balance to the kirtans, so beloved by him. On the few occasions I attended, you could set your watch to the time that he actually started speaking on the mike. He valued punctuality as a mark of respect even to a limited audience at the beginning of a program. It is largely due to his efforts that the above event and Annamayya Aradhana/Jayanthi are observed at different venues..
Long before the foundation of the physical edifice was laid for the Hindu Temple of Florida in Tampa, Dr. Korabathina contributed significantly in installments to pay down the albatross of the bank loan that was taken for the temple construction. He was a Founding Trustee and one of the youngest.
He maintained a low profile, and his name may not appear on any plaques. But he volunteered priceless hours of his time and services at fundraisers and always responded favorably to requests. His cell phone became an extension of his large hearted attitude, as he struck the prefect balance between informality, to be accessible and maintaining "maryada" in his conversations.
He packed a lot of stature into a small frame and I bow to him in respectful homage.

Dr Satyanarayana Korabathina Rao always will be remembered for his inspiring religious, lectures, teachings, stories, especially on Bhagavad Geeta, Bhagavatham classes conducted at Hindu Temple of Florida, Tampa with noticeable smile, soft spoken and dedicated volunteerism. He was thorough on Bhgavad Geeta, and helped others to learn and understand "self" getting united with "Paramathma" and thereby no "duality", always finding peace, solace and happiness in whatever we all did at all times. Both Rajyam, his wife and Dr Korabathina, always volunteered at Hindu Temple of Florida and extended their support to all community activities. May His Soul Rest in Eternal Peace! May all our prayers help the bereaving family members to recover from His untimely loss.
With continued prayers, Ravi, Beena, Anjana and Sankar Nairs.
Dr. Rao, a long time resident of the Tampa Bay area, was a prominent member of the Indian community. He was an ardent carnatic music lover and supporter of many Tamausa(Tampa Tamil Association of USA) events, namely our 'Children's Day' music competitions. He was an excellent orator and shared his wisdom with kids and adults alike. We will definitely miss him.
Our deepest sympathies to Dr. Korabathina Rao’s family.
TAMAUSA.
A simple and very good human being. polite and kind to every one.we will miss him. Drs Parimala and Palani
Dr.Korabathina was one of the amazing persons whom one could meet in their lives. Totally committed to the Gurukul followed by Vidyalaya and The Hindu Temple of Florida ,this is where you could meet him and Rajyam garu almost every other day and each of the interaction would always bring out something new either in spiritual topic , carnatic music or an interesting anecdote.
I remember both of them taking care of one of former priest's wife who sustained burns I think in the year 2000/01- They both came to the their house every day changing dressings for six months , until the wound healed completely.
His mellow voice and pleasant slow paced talking will be missed by everyone . Just at the time he would have given us more nectar of knowledge ,the call came for the higher abode.
I pray to Lord Satyanarayana to give strength and comfort to his family to bear this loss and let us commit ourselves to the values and community service that he stood for.

Even though i did not know him very close, there were occasions i did discuss about music and some philosophical views. In spite of his illness he had a great smile which I remember many times. He will be missed by the gita group, tamausa, and the Indian community of tampa bay area. May God give the strenghth to the family to bear the loss..affectionately. Brinda Gnanashanmugam
