Ruby Buzbee's Obituary
Ruby Buzbee, 90, passed away on May 1, 2024. She was born March 19, 1934, in Georgia to Medis and Maggie Ray, one of three siblings along with Hazel Adair and Glenn Ray. She married Phillip Richard Buzbee on July 15, 1951, and remained his devoted wife for 56 years until his passing. The couple had three children together, Phyllis Ann, Phillip Richard Jr., and Debra Elaine. Throughout the years, their family grew, with the addition of seven grandchildren and sixteen grandchildren.
Ruby was a lifelong educator, who retired as a teacher’s aide from Bayonet Point Middle School. Outside of her career, she enjoyed crafting, and especially making dolls. She loved nothing more in life, though, than her family. She leaves behind the legacy of a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She will always be remembered by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren as the ultimate grandmother.
Ruby is survived by her children, Phillip Buzbee Jr. (Janine) and Elaine Phillips (Dale); her sister-in-law Mary Ray and son-in-law Bill McFarland; her grandchildren Ricky, Adam, Chad, Kelly, Amanda, and Amber; and her sixteen great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Phillip, her daughter Phyllis, her parents Medis and Maggie, her brother Glenn and sister Hazel, and her grandson Billy.
