Rosemary Barlow's Obituary
Rosemary “Roe” Barlow, 76, of Trinity, Florida, passed away peacefully at home on August 24, 2024. She was born in New York on March 2, 1948, to Lee and Rosemary Barlow, the oldest of three siblings, with her two brothers, Kevin and Brian. She spent her formative years in Long Island, New York, where she started a family with her four children Darlene, Lisa, Jack, and Tiffany. In 1985, Roe moved with Jack and Tiffany to San Diego, California, and in 1995 relocated permanently to the Tampa Bay area. After staying home with her children as a full-time mom, she received certifications in paralegal studies and medical transcription and enjoyed a career as a legal secretary for the Florida State Attorney’s Office.
Roe was a beautiful person inside and out. As a single mother with many obstacles throughout her life, she always strived to put herself last and made personal sacrifices to ensure her children had everything they needed. People often commented on her resemblance to Cher, and she took pride in her appearance, always dressed from head to toe with her makeup on! A born-again believer with a firm foundation in Christ, Roe read her Bible from front to back too many times to count. She instilled this belief in her children as well, with her famous last words each and every night – “Don’t forget to pray.” And no matter where she went, her heart never left New York.
In her spare time, Roe enjoyed going to garage sales, shopping, doo-wop concerts, watching Christian programming, and sitting outside. She was obsessed with butterflies and the color purple. She was a Carvel cake fan, a chocolate addict, and an avid animal lover. Above all else, she loved being in the presence of her family; she felt most secure and whole in their company. She leaves behind the legacy of a devoted mother and grandmother. She will always be remembered for making people laugh with her witty sense of humor and inability to hide her facial expressions.
Roe is survived by her children Jack Tarantino, Tiffany McCabe, Darlene Raimondi, and Lisa Raimondi; her niece (who was more like a daughter) Christina McCafferty and nephew Kevin Lee Barlow; her grandchildren Braydon, Ariana, Angelina, Michael, Christopher, Ashley, and KoKo; and her great-grandchildren Nile, Gunnar, and Dahlia. She was preceded in death by her father Lee Barlow, mother Rosemary Rocco, brothers Kevin and Brian Barlow, and grandson Robby Walker.
