Rose Marie "Meem" Harden's Obituary
With deep love and gratitude, we celebrate the life of our beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother and friend, who passed peacefully into the arms of her Savior. A woman of unwavering faith, she lived her life as a testament to God’s grace, embodying kindness, strength, and selfless devotion to others.
Born in the beautiful hills of Virginia, she carried her love for her birthplace in her heart always—especially in the fall, when she would return often to care for her mother. Her faith was the cornerstone of her life, guiding her every step and inspiring all who knew her. She served tirelessly for 20 years in her church, North Rome Baptist organizing Fifth Sunday dinners, working with the youth group, and serving as board secretary. Her dedication to God’s work was evident in every casserole she baked, every child she mentored, and every soul she uplifted.
As strong as her faith, so was her love for her family. She was a devoted wife who lovingly cared for her husband through his final days, and before that, her mother-in-law, never once wavering in her commitment. Her home was a haven—warm, welcoming, and filled with the aroma of her incredible cooking. She worked hard to build a life of love and stability for her family, and her legacy lives on in the hearts she nurtured.
She loved to travel, and especially cherished time spent in her motor home making memories. Whether she was tending her vegetable garden, sharing its bounty with neighbors and Metro Ministries, or dressing up with her signature perfect hair, she did everything with joy and grace.
Her service extended beyond her home and church. She was a school crossing guard, a dedicated poll worker for over 15 years, and a proud supporter of the American Legion, helping veterans and their families. She gave generously to charities, always thinking of others before herself.
She never missed a birthday call, loved taking photos, and sent cards that made people feel remembered and loved. Her friendships were deep and lasting—she was the one people turned to in times of need, always ready with a listening ear and a helping hand.
Rose is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph L. Harden, children, Kay ‘Shine’ and Joe ‘Zag’. She is survived by her children; Renee, Sandra and Dorothy; Grandchildren; Stacy (Dean), Les (Jodi), Andrea (T.R.), Suzette, Shelley (Eric), Sam (Mary), Nelson (Amanda) and Heather (Kris); Great Grandchildren, Christopher, Savannah, Mikalya, Alexis, Colten, Cassidy, Peyton, Brock, Stephen, Liam, Allison, Waylon, Brooklyn, Hatcher and Freya; Great Great Grandchild, Keanu Malik.
She was truly one of a kind. Her loving spirit, her faith, her laughter, and her boundless generosity will be missed beyond measure. Though our hearts are heavy, we rejoice knowing she is now at peace, reunited with her loved ones in Heaven, and hearing the words, “Well done, good and faithful servant.”
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 11th from 10am-11am at West Broad Street Baptist Church in Tampa, FL, immediately followed by a funeral service.
