Romaine Marie Courech, aged 91, passed away peacefully on June 18, 2024, in her home in Trinity, Florida with her family by her side.
Born on March 27, 1933 in Montreal, Quebec, she later moved to Sarnia, Ontario and then Michigan. She retired to Florida in 1993.
She married the love of her life Arnold Courech (pre-deceased) and they were devoted partners and best friends for over 40 years.
Romaine will be dearly missed by her son, Tim Palmer, and daughter-in-law Linda Palmer.
She was a proud grandmother to Alexandra Palmer, Ryan Palmer and Mackenzie Palmer (nee Leckie), and great-grandmother to Jaxx Palmer.
Romaine was an avid reader, loved music, and in recent years enjoyed playing games and cards with her friends, as well as going out with the girls for lunches and excursions.
She will be remembered for her love of animals, both great and small as well as critiquing the golfers from her lanai as 50’s greatest hits and Patsy Cline blared from the speakers.
Romaine was loved by many for her fiery spirit and beautiful smile that would light up the room. She will be deeply missed by family and friends.
She was a loving cat momma to many kitties over the years and will be missed by Sunshine who will continue to knock things off the shelves in her honor.
The family would like to express their thanks for the wonderful help and care given by Gulfside Hospice and the caregivers of Right At Home.
The family will be holding a private celebration of life to honor and cherish her memory.
In remembrance of her great love for elephants and compassion for all animals, donations can be made to IFAW (International Fund for Animal Welfare)
