J. Roberto Hiller M. 's Obituary
J. Roberto Hiller Moreno, 83, died November 28th in Tampa, Florida. His funeral service will be held at Trinity Memorial Gardens on Saturday, December 8th at 10:30am. The family will receive visitors and hour prior from 9:30am to 10:30am.
Born in Caracas, Venezuela on January 28th, 1935, he graduated from Rensselaer Polytechnical Institute (RPI) as an Aeronautical Engineer and later got his Master’s Degree at St. Louis University Parks College of Engineering, Aviation and Technology. Married Norma Hiller on August 20th, 1959, they raised a daughter Sabrina and son Roberto.
He had a successful military career becoming a General in the Venezuelan Air Force. He was commander of several air force bases, founding member of IUPFAN (Instituto Universitario Politécnico de las Fuerzas Armadas Nacionales) the Military Polytechnical Institute in Venezuela and one of the implementors of the Venezuelan Air Defense Command. He traveled extensively through the Americas, Europe and the Middle East on behalf of the Venezuelan Government working together with allies on strategic geopolitical projects.
He was a kind and humble man, who put others before himself. He is survived by his wife Norma, two children Sabrina and Roberto, and four Grandchildren Nelson, Maria, Gabriela and Alexandra.
