Robert Lane's Obituary
Robert Lane passed away peacefully on June 23, 2018 in Palm Harbor, Florida week after his 87th birthday.
Bob was born in Boston, and was raised in the loving and supportive family of Grace and Earl Dunning. Bob graduated from Northampton High School and the University of Massachusetts with a degree in economics. He was a staff sergeant in the Airforce and worked 30 years in the fluid power business. Bob with his wife Miriam resided in Medway, Massachusetts for 33 years before retiring to Palm Harbor, Florida. Bob loved travel, golf, the beach and was a talented painter. He was fascinated with Vincent Van Gogh and Picasso. Newly relocated to Florida, Bob became involved in the local community and briefly served on the Board of the Pinellas County Library. In 2002, Bob suffered a stroke which limited his activity but did not dampen his spirit, creativity or sense of humor.
Bob is survived by his wife of 55 years, Miriam, and his two loving daughters: Jennifer Lane McGuirk of Princeton New Jersey and Kimberly Thomson Lane of Kennebunk Maine. He leaves behind six grandchildren who will miss him dearly.
Private service with the family will follow. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Dunedin Fine Arts Center.
