Robert Ellsworth Grover's Obituary
Robert Ellsworth Grover, born 7/23/33 in Camden, NJ passed away at nearly 89 years old on June 25, 2022.
Robert, best known as Bob, was one of 4 children and is survived by his younger sister, Jewel DeMore. He was a long-time resident of Lutz, FL and had a strong love of golf. Bob leaves behind his loving partner of 12 years, Peggy Clifton, and 3 of his 4 children, Michael Robert and his wife Kaleigh; Susan Kimberly Stone, and her husband Paul Stone; Mark Alfred, and his wife Anna. Bob's oldest daughter Michelle Lynn passed away last year and is survived by her two beautiful children, Robert's grandchildren, Cody Oliver and Stephanie Johnson, her husband Nick and their daughter Lorelei Reese, Bob's newest great-grandaughter. In addition, Bob was a grandfather, better known as Pepa, to Sara Kay, Alleigh Michelle, Samantha Leigh, Faith, Charity, Hope & Grace, and to Hank, who passed away in 2017. Bob was also blessed with 6 more great grandchildren!
Bob joined the Air Force at age 17 and built a career working on radar systems and then eventually specialized in repairing laboratory analyzing machines throughout the state of Florida. He met his wife of 52 years, Betty, while he was stationed in London and within a year she left London, flew to the States and married him.
Bob was a hard working father and loving husband, teaching his kids to have a strong work ethic and to be respectful. He was the Dad who could fix anything: cars, appliances, you name it! He built a house for us in Wesley Chapel, where we lived for many years. He was very proud of that house,as he should have been. It was a wonderful place to live. He even made a countertop with photos of the family throughout the years that were laid upon it and then epoxied for safekeeping. It made for fun conversations and sharing memories with friends.
Bob had a lot of great friends through the years and as kids, we remember him playing a lot of cards, bowling on leagues, going crabbingand fishing and playing a lot of golf. We remember him laughing a lot!
While Bob tended to hold his emotions close, that did change with age, and we watched him get a little softer, sweeter, more sentimental. He is dearly missed, but we find peace knowing he was "ready to go" and that he is now finally able to get a good night's sleep.
Rest in Peace Dad - We Love You!
