Robert Greenhalgh's Obituary
Robert Greenhalgh, 92, of New Port Richey, Florida, passed away on March 13, 2024. He was born to James and Elizabeth Greenhalgh in Brooklyn, New York, on November 3, 1931. Growing up as one of seven siblings, Robert’s early life was full of liveliness and love. After graduating from high school in 1949, Robert entered the field of printing and mailing, eventually owning his own business. He married the love of his life, Rosemarie, and they created a family together with their four children, Lynn, Robert, Richard, and Lisa, and the addition of many grandchildren and great-grandchildren throughout the years.
Robert and Rosemarie moved their family from New York to Florida in 1979, where he developed a love for the Tampa Bay Rays baseball team. His greatest love in life, however, was his family. His family came first, and he could always be counted on to show up for life’s important moments, no matter how small. Robert loved nothing more than supporting his children and grandchildren in their various sports and activities. He leaves behind with them the memory of his constant presence and encouragement.
Robert is survived by his children, Lynn Derenthal of Davie, Florida, Robert Greenhalgh of Atlanta, Georgia, Richard (Amy) Greenhalgh of Lutz, Florida, and Lisa (Vinson) Fetty of Meridian, Idaho; his sisters Elizabeth and Doris and sister-in-law Virginia; his grandchildren, Alex, Kurt, Rebecca, Matthew, Zachary, Collin, Kylen, Emma, Zayden, and Saren; and his great-grandchildren, Carter, Ava, August, and Arlo. He was predeceased by his beloved wife Rosemarie Greenhalgh; his parents, James and Elizabeth Greenhalgh; his siblings, James, Albert, Frances, and John; and his son-in-law, James.
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked for donations to be made in Robert’s memory to St. Jude’s Research Hospital or Moffitt Cancer Center.
