Robert Lee Dodds' Obituary
Robert L. Dodds Jr., 71, died May 31, in Trinity, FL. He was born November 18, 1946, in Kansas City, MO the eldest son of Robert L. and JoAnn (Carlson) Dodds. He attended schools in the Kansas City, MO area graduating in 1964 from Southeast High School. In 1966 he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and served during the Vietnam conflict.
He joined the Kansas City, MO Police Department in 1972; retiring after 25 years of service to continue his passion for carpentry and remodeling and, of course, fishing at the Lake of the Ozarks. He and Linda started their adventure in Trinity (north of Tampa) Florida where he was a Security Guard at Countryside Mease Hospital. Of course, there was the fishing, boating, traveling, sharing time with family and friends who always loved him because “Grandpa is a Joker!”
He is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years Linda and two devoted sons (Eric of Dallas TX and Greg of Richmond VA) a sister Linda O’Brien of San Francisco CA and two brothers, Jerry Dodds of Overland Park KS and Timothy Dodds of Shawnee KS. He is also survived by four beautiful and cherished granddaughters (McKinley, Ariana, Jessica and Mikaela) as well as his dear nieces and nephews. There are many good friends along the way who have brought joy and companionship.
May he forever rest in the comforting and everlasting arms of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

A military memorial service and interment will be held at Bay Pines National Cemetery (10000 Bay Pines Blvd., St. Petersburg, FL 33708) on July 26, 2018, at 11:00 am.
