James Carter
Bobby and I were great friends in high school in Stuttgart Germany. We played football, baseball, and basketball together on the Robinson Barracks and Stuttgart American High School teams. He was a very talented athlete. In particular, he excelled at the quarterback position where I was his favorite receiver. He gave me the nickname ``Spider'' because I could catch just about any ball that he got within my reaching distance, which he often did. After graduating from high school many of us returned to the states and lost contact with each other; the army brat's blues. I thought about him many times through the years when reflecting on those ``glory days''. This evening I came across a copy of our 1974 high school commencement program. Scanning through it I saw the name ``Robert Gene Dinnell''. I immediately thought to enter it in the google search bar to see if I could find anything on my old friend. I was so sad to reunite with him on the page I was brought to. All I can say is that he is one of those people who made my life worth living. Rest in peace Bobby. My sincere condolences to his family and friends.
